Day 18
Time is flying by.
We are now back from Bangalore.
On Thursday we flew out of Dabolim on Spice Jet (Indian Easy Jet )to Bangalore, The new airport is now open and it is magnificent and about thirty eight kilometers out of the city. Prepaid taxis cost 1000 R from the airport to your hotel in the city centre.
We were just off the main drag and near quite a selection of bars and restaurants. After settling in we started to explore a bit, fighting our way through tuc tuc drivers trying to sell their services.
After we had a look round we found somewhere to eat, Bheemas,
This link will show some pictures of the inside
The following day we were given a tour of Bangalore by Matilda, one of the local Soroptomists. Our first stop was Lalbagh Gardens, used by scoolchildren and others for education and relaxation.
Also flower shows are held here in the main pavilion.
It seems that as soon as you show a camera in India someone wants to get in the picture
We continued our tourafter having had lunch in the sumptuous Catholic Club, unfortuanatly photography was not allowed in there.
We saw a McDonalds, but I was not quick enough to photograph it, featuring "Chapati McAloo Tika"
One of the many old cinemas
A stationary shop
A Pork Butcher
To be Cont.
